Default The Mynas are in town

Mynas escaped a bird zoo in Tel Aviv in the 1990s and quickly spread all over the center of the country and perhaps further. I found these at the promenade in the area betwen Tel-aviv and Yafo.
The first one came running from over there, passed by me and kept at it until it disappeared from my sight behind a bump way over there. People stroll and run at the promenade, I guess this bird learned a few tricks from watching at them.

The marathon runner common myna

EXIF data:
Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1250)
Aperture: f/4.3
Focal Length: 60 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

In my way back to the car I found the centinel of the group, watching over its friends.
The common myna (Acridotheres tristis)

EXIF data
Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 60 mm
Exposure: -0.19
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

They are good looking nasty birds and actively compete local birds for nesting locations and food.

Enjoy!

I love these Birds and your captures are very good! These and Starlings are everywhere in Thailand. I enjoy watching them. They can be real Charactures.
Thanks For Sharing these
Michael

I especially like the one of the centinel. Nice job with the exposure, and very pretty bird.

Chip, FoG and Chewy,

Thanks for your comments.
Around my house I ussually see only sparrows, crows and pigeons. I'm practically starving for other birds (I think I'll have chicken for dinner, though), every time I see some new species (for me, that is) I stop for a while to learn about their habits and how to take better pictures of them. All suggestions are welcome!
