Default lunchtime in the weeds & on my car rear window

This another one of my "famous" 20 minute shoots during my lunch break. These were all captured no further than 200 feet from the front door of my workplace. There is a grassy, weedy area which carries storm water away...a deep culvert actually. I don't get into the high stuff at all. I just shoot at the edge of it.....and there is alot going on there!

Here's a blue butterfly that's not the sharpest but it was the only butterfly that even came close to range and stayed still long enough to get two photos....one bad and then this one cropped some.

DSC_7292

This evil bee is demonstrating his flexibility after visiting the Chiropractor. a foot on each flower and cracking his back downward towards the abyss....pretty impressive stuntbee if you ask me!

DSC_7317

I captured a ladybug and transported it to my car to let it go wild. And wild it got.....he was fast going here and there and was darn near impossible to get a good shot. But thankfully he decided to chill for a second......I believe that I still caught this one in motion. I wish my window had not been so dirty but I thought its shadow was pretty cool

DSC_7367

This was definitely a sit down and catch my wind moment for the ladybug. The shot shows it actually preening itself on the rear window of my car

DSC_7358

Hope you like them!

Great Shots Patrick! Love the Killer Bee! Wasp or whatever it is! Looks dangerous!
The Lady bug shots came out really clear and sharp. I've yet to capture one that I'm happy with. This is the best one I've been able to get.

Hey Michael, I saw yours and I think it is great...it's got grass, branches, leaves and color.....When I give up this lens...I won't be able to come close to this so I will probably not even try until I can afford the lens...sniff

You have the capability, maybe not the lens yet. I am borrowing a sweet lens and it gives me sweet pictures.......

It sure makes the rest of my day go by quicker if I think I have captured a keeper. I want to get home and pop the card into my computer and see if it truly came out.

Pretty cool stuff man... I think I went to the same chiropractor as that bee. Too bad the results weren't as good. Great work Patrick.

What a great way to unwind and enjoy your lunch break. I love that you seem to have an entire little eco system going on right there with so many different forms of life going on from plants and flowers to bugs of all kinds. Great capture on the bee (we call those wasps here in CA) he was showing off for you. Those little ladybugs can be fast. You did great to keep up with her.
Another great collection.
