Default Hang Gliding -- San Francisco (Fort Funston)

Hi all,

I thought i'd share a couple of shots that i took of Hang Gliders just off the coast of San Francisco (Fort Funston). They are from two different occasions - the first time was a weekday after work just before sunset, and after that I got so impressed by their skills, i had to check it out a gain the following weekend.

Thanks for looking!

There are some more shoots of these guys in my flicker feed - Fort Funston.

If you're in the Bay Area and interested in checking some of these guys out, you can take alook at the Fort Funston Website here.

Thank you guys!

It's really amazing what these guys can do on this things. If you look in the far distance in the last picture you'll see how crowded the air is. There're both Hang gliders and paragliders sharing the airspace, so I guess they have to be pretty skilled to avoid a collision.

These are all great, but the third is absolutely spectacular. I love the simplicity of the shot, and the color that's still present in the glider (it doesn't just appear in profile). The starburst effect on the sun is great, too.
