This is a beutiful shot, I think the overexposed backgroud adds more dreamyness to the shot. This wouldnt be out of place in a magazine.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply - appreciate it all!
The blown out background is actually deliberate - the idea came during a wedding shoot where I messed up a beach shot by not checking my settings. I was shooting into the sun and while the subject in that case was all out of focus and the shot didn't work, I *loved* the washed out tones it created... made a mental note to try it again, but on purpose the next time! This is the result. Methinks I may be using this technique again! |
