Default Weary Traveller

Perhaps a bit too serious, I captured this on my one lens walk, looking at him I was struck by his seeming sense of utter despair.

I'm a weary traveller, often in need of a hand,
My life has been a struggle; feels like I’m on shifting sand.
Though I’m your fellow human, I so often feel alone,
And the hearts of some I meet, appear to be made of stone.

Some of the greatest pictures ever seen have been serious, or about despair, hopelessness, sadness.
They are not pleasant to look at, and neither should they be.
I like this picture Michael, it reminds me to be grateful for what I have, and whether I could do more to help others.

Thank You Beach, you can see I took your "excellent" advice on the processing. I really do appreciate your comments. It brings to mind the old saying; "There but for the Grace of God go I"

I would think that this is what photography is really about - depicting real life whether good or bad

I agree Sheldon! I call it Life Photography because of that reason; We all love the Beautiful landscapes, Flowers and Wildlife as well as Portrait and Candid photography we see on the Great website, We are free to share our work here and it's a great family.
However Photos like this one sometime take people out of their comfort zone and I understand that. I was moved by this man and felt moved to share it here.
Thanks Chewys Dad

I like it .. it's powerful, emotional .. an opportunity presented itself and you recorded it, it's what we do .. it's not just sunsets and flower.. smiling faces.. cause that's not life, a good photograph evokes emotion.. this one certainly does that. Well done Chewy's

Great image Dad, love the look of it. I think we have a duty to try to help our fellow man and, your photo helps me to remember that and to ask myself what I can do.

MT 11:28-30
28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
