Default Lightning Storm -

Here is a shot of a lightning storm that came through Sacramento, CA on June 3 (shot from El Dorado Hills, CA). Handheld 2.5 second shot with my D80 and 12-24mm F4 lens bracing against the top of my wife's car. We just moved, and I was not able to find my tripod and remote release cable. This shot turned out better than I could have expected.

Thats a great shot, I really like the way the clouds are illuminated. They look quite scary

Excellent capture! I had a look at the large version on flickr, the forks are perfect.. you couldn't have done better even with a tripod and remote.
