Default In the Middle of Nowhere

I took this in the California desert just outside Indio. I must admit the remoteness reminded me of too many movies where bad things happen. Oh, this is an faux HDR.

In the Middle of Nowhere

Thanks for peeking!

When I was a kid I used to wonder why no one else decided to go down the road with us, why were we the only ones? Maybe they knew something we didn't? This shot reminds me of that. Wonderful faux HDR. I really like the mysterious feel to it.

Beautiful shot. we've been through there a few times, it is exactly as you describe, desolate and remote.
Makes the mind wander.... great capture. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, ladies. Really, I was scared to go too much further. I don't even know why there was a road there. There were shotgun shells all over the place (I should have stayed longer to incorporate them into the foreground of a shot as they were colorful) and I was very uneasy for some reason. The hardest part was the strong wind that about knocked me over and finding a place where I could pull off the road with the rental car IN CASE someone actually needed to drive past.

I like everything about this...thecracks in the road, the swirling clouds, the hills, the low sunlight, the different shades of desert brush. Great composition in putting it all together!

Now this is just the kind of road I so enjoy.

And you have really captured the drama of the scene in that fabulous sky.

Nice work indeed!

I used to love driving the back roads thru the California desert; We used to go out at night with flashlights and pillow cases and collect snakes and lizards that would lay out on the road at night to sell to petshops, (I know, not good!!!, but it was 40 years ago and I've forgivein myself thank you very much)
Beautiful shot, I can tell that California is in financial difficulties as they can't patch the pot holes in their roads!!! Lol.
Thanks for Sharing

A scooter is a wonderful option for urban transportation – small, light and cheap way to hop from a place to another usually in short distance hence the word “scooter”, which is to be able to scoot around easily. Not to be mistaken with higher powered motorcycles as they are aimed at transporting individuals over a longer distance, a scooter has smaller wheels and a step through leg frame as the base platform to allow easy accessibility and to operate.
