Default More feathered friends...

I have never had more fun then I did today on my photo drive with my Mom, my niece and my nephew. I laughed so hard my stomach ached so bad and I had sharp pains in my head I am sure from the lack of oxygen to my brain. It was so worth the pain! We had a blast and I look so forward to the next time my Mom and I can go out shooting. I hope you enjoy some of the shots I was able to get between the laughter. I am amazed I was able to hold the camera still at all.

Wow, your shots came out beautiful. I love them all. Somehow I don't think my Iphone could have done as well, LOL. And, had that hawk dive bombed you I would have had to jump out and try to capture that !!
It was sure a fun day for all. I think I am sore from laughing so hard.
Your shots are wonderful.

Nice, Michelle! I can't believe how close you were able to get to these birds. I am jealous. I have tried many times to get a good shot of a hawk or one of the numerous turkey vultures flying around Knight's Ferry, but they never get low enough for a decent shot. I use my 300 mm, but that is still not good enough.

Glad you had a great time.....am sure that you were pleased with these shots, especially that last one which ever so deftly captures its movement without appearing out of focus......not easily done...nice job

Default Nice work

Nice shots! And thats precisely how many a bird affair begins!

You nailed that hawk. The movement in the wings adds a very nice sense of movement to the capture.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

I got really lucky! We were out at a Merced National Wildlife Refuge on Sandy Mush Drive and it was pretty fun. I would HIGHLY recommend some Mosquito repellent. There were thousands of those buggers. I have about 6-8 bites just from the few shots of the hawk I managed to get. I can not wait to go back to this place in the fall when it is full of water and thousands of birds.

MICHELLE !! the HAWK in flight is AWESOME !!
the pheasnt is cool, pretty colors .. sounds like you had a blast with your family.

but back to the Hawk in the 4th shot .. WOW .. I love it, really shows a great wing angle..tail out flat, talons folded back .. serious flying. great focus on the head ,, very well done... I would trade two Osprey, a Sparrow and a cardinal for a Hawk shot like that .. outstanding, I am quite impressed !!

/high Five !
