I took pictures of my niece this weekend. It's the first time anyone's taken pictures of her with a halfway decent camera, so I tried to do my best. She moves a LOT. As soon as we'd put her down, she'd start crawling away from the staged area. Oh my... so we had to resort to the basket indoors AND outdoors. That bummed me a little, but they're cute shots.
Note: I do have excessive use of "le tilt" but I actually enjoy that perspective. Love it or hate it, it did get the child into the frame at a neat angle. Picture 1: Had some neat presets here from Lightroom to show my sister different photo options ![]() Picture 2: She was tired and cranky outside, so we gave her a flower to entertain her -- I completely forgot the bubbles I packed and am very sad, but maybe next time! ![]() Picture 3: Grandma was singing the Sesame Street theme and playing it on the piano behind me when I took this ![]() Picture 4: Harro Aunt Georgia! I'm going to eat your camera! ![]() If anyone's curious, I got the carpet on the clearance endcap at Target last Thursday for $2.00. They had a ton of them, so I picked up some girly ones, neutral ones, and boy ones!

What a cutie pie! Gosh, aren't babies HARD to photograph? You did a great job. I like the last two the best.

OMG yes they are definitely hard. We just totally gave up on crawling candids, since she kept getting too close to me and the 50mm was not happy with that. I was really short on space for me to get a good angle on her in my mother's house. The indoor shots were in my mother's formal living room with natural light. My speedlite was bounced off the wall behind me.
My sister was snapping photos with her cybershot off to my left though, and some of the really good shots had a harsh shadow behind the baby because of that. Note to self... next time make the parent (no matter my relation to him/her) put the P&S away!

We've had chicken in a basket, scampi in a basket, now adorable baby beautifully photographed in a basket.
You have served four perfect portions and I like them all, but lean towards the third with its empty space and baby off centre. And well done Grandma for singing the Sesame Street theme and playing it on the piano beachcomber |

Wow, what a sweetheart. Love the whole set... I get to see my grand daughter and new grandson in August. I can't wait to get some shots of them.

Thanks guys!
She's as cute as a button. She's 2 months younger than my daughter, but soooo tiny. She weighs maybe 16 pounds at 9 months whereas my daughter weighs almost 24 pounds. She looks just like my sister did at that age too, which is super creepy to me Genetics are wonderful.
