Default Gila monster

No way to get this guy to pose....he was on the move...these were taken in a hurry in autofocus.

This is the only venomous lizard in America...and lives mostly in the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts. Thanks for looking..

That is one bad-a** lizard.

'Gila' (spells the same, but pronounce as GHEELA) in Malay means crazy or mad, MAD MONSTER. Though I doubt that has anything to do with how the lizard got the name.

Third one is the best for me. Those shots are tough!

Nice shots! I haven't seen one this year but always on the lookout for them. Love the last shot.

Cool shot Leona, I've never seen one in the wild but they are interesting creatures. How fast do they move?

Great shots! Hope you were very careful as I believe these leave a fairly nasty bite!

They're usually pretty sluggish,, so not really much of a threat to us...but they can really move if necessary..
