Default Beauty, the Beast and a few in between

Quite the eclectic afternoon of shooting ...

Here is the one I consider the Beauty .... I was just about to jump in the pool when I heard someone say look at the butterfly. So I had to grab the camera and follow her around for a bit. I haven't gone through all the shots I took yet, but so far liked this one
Beauty

Here's the Beast ......
the beast
all of the sand looking things are babies .. they were all moving constantly so I couldn't
get them in super sharp focus ... but I think you can get the gist from this

For the In Between .... I was fascinated with this "flower"
bud n petal
as I was sitting there trying all kinds of different exposures to get the shot above I heard a commotion going on and looked up to see what the action was ... changed lenses super quick and got this ...

Shoot, she saw me
Unfortunately it's not as sharply focused as I wish it was .. but even still it is in my opinion another one that conveys it's idea

I am partial to the macro style so I love that 3rd shot but that 4th, well that is a shot not likely to be duplicated anytime soon. Very cute and funny and a bit sobering to think that the chipmunk is probably laid out on your front step right this very moment as a gift from the cat to you...Better go check it out!

Sue, your Beauty is beautiful, what a lovely butterfly. Your Beast is beastly but a brilliant capture and wow, carrying babies on his back, that was worth seeing. The in between ones are excellent too. That is one strange looking flower but through your lens, very beautiful too. And what can you say about the last one. When you see a moment like that, you just have to react quickly and snap the moment. And what a great job you did. Yes, a little blurred but so what. As Patrick says not going to be seen again, and it is suc a great picure. Great set Sue, I always appreciate your fascinating work.

Jake.

I agree, the first is really beautiful. The beast is so creepy haha. Are those really her eggs? Fantastic moment to capture with the last one. Looks like the chipmunk really had a long day after that, if ever he made it out hehe. Thanks for sharing teedlepeep

Thanks Patrick. That chipmunk actually lived to see another day. While I was grabbing the camera I was also yelling for my husband to come out and intervene with nature. I am ok with the whole circle of life, and we name the "presents" that are bestowed upon us. However, I just couldn't watch it happen.

Morning Jake. Thank You for such nice comments. I think some bugs got to that flower before me. It just caught my eye.

Nice pics all round.

And I'm down with the "beast" which I think you should go the full monty on - beginning with cloning out the twig near the leg and on the right to isolate it on that gridded background.

You have something special there.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

Well the beast is certainly a beast are they the young on the back or just it's colouring ? *shudder at more of them* I love the butterfly one and the last one I have no idea what flower it is but it certainly is differnet and aptly named in between as colours are lovely the shape is different. Great shots as always Teedle..

Edit hmm for some reason my comp just downloaded the last one LOL I fear for the Chippie's life !! if that was my old cat it would have been a gonna for sure
