Default Wasp Head Shot

This "Son of a Biscuit Eater" stung me right after this shot. Guess I was a little too close. Wish I hadn't cut his/her feet off but I had intended to take more than one shot. Oh well. Still getting the feel for my new flash. Canon XSi, Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 31mm extension tube, Canon MT-24EX flash, mono-pod.

OUCH! Hope you're ok... The image is outstanding in my opinion. Beautiful work, looks like a huge wasp monster from a sci fi. Great work!

WOW, what an amazing shot.

Those little buggers hurt when they sting dont they?

It actually does look like something out of a horror movie, like bees gone bad! LOL

I got stung after accidently disturbing a nest in the barn one time. A total of 17-20 stings.

I am not a bee fan, thats for sure, but even so I am very impressed with the close-up of this bee. Crisp, clear and great detail.

Thanks for sharing,

Laura

That is an awesome shot. Too bad you had to get stung in the process.

Amazing shot Tom - the detail is superb. They look really evil this close up don't they. Shame you never managed another shot, but this is spectacular. Hope you're on the mend now (I've always hated them,. ever since I was about 5yrs old when I was stung inside the mouth - one landed on the apple I was eating and I didn't notice - eeek!).

Martin.
