New to this digital photography thing and would like your comments or help on what I can do to improve my composition or just take better pictures in general. Still learning to use new Nikon D90. Pictures from recent sunset. Thanks!

beautiful color! since you're just getting used to your camera play with the settings the next time you shoot a sunset. change up the white balance and see how that effects the lighting and color and see what effect you like most. it's a blast and very addictive! hope you enjoy it and stick with it!

Hi and welcome to DPS new girl. There is another forum where you can get your shots critiqued and I'm sure you would get a lot more responses. But anyway, as was said above yes, play with your white balance on shots like this. I like to use Kelvin 7500 for my sunset shots. In the Nikons it gives some really adds rich golden tones to the image. Hope that helps.

Welcome to DPS. There are a lot of nice folks here. I think your composition is very good. The colors in these are excellent. I'd say so far so good... great work!

welcome to the wonderful world of digital photography... think of each shot as a new experiment with light and its interaction with the objects within your shots... by the way your posted shots are beautiful
