Default An old house...........

I was raised on a ranch, and this old house has been there as long as I can remember.

My Dad used to tell me there was old dynamite in there just to keep us kids from playing in it.

The house has been there for 60 some years, but it was just recently logged in the area, so its the first time I have got to see it not surrounded by trees.

There was a fire in it back when it was fairly new, and for some reason he never tore it down.

I played with the sepia in this last one. I think I am going to have this one enlarged and give it to him.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful work on a neat old house. I'd give him the last one too. Great job Laura!

Thanks Fred,

I think he thinks I am nuts. I always have my camera when I come go to visit him, as he owns a lot of land for this day and age, so I have many photo oppurtunities.

There was actually an eagle feeding off of a dead calf before he had a chance to dispose of it, and I was hoping to get some photos of it, but the only ones I got were of vultures, and they were too far away.

What amazed me most is how the wood, on closer inspection looked almost new in some places.

Of course, I didnt get too close. Warnings of the dynamite when I was young kept flashing through my mind.

Being buried in the trees for all those years was like a natural preservation.

Wow, what an interesting building. It makes you wonder how long it has been there and who built it. Great pics...

Wow, what an intersting old house and all that overgrowth. (is that a word) lol.. No wonder you wanted to get close. I bet there is a bit of history with this one. Who lived in it and what where they like. I love this place. Don't stray too close though, or the dynamite may go off. lol.. Thanks for sharing this wonderful house. Laura
