Default Saturated Colour Full Moon, May 2009

This image of the Full Moon (well, almost full - it was 99% illuminated) was taken on the 8th May 2009, using my Canon 20D attached to my ED80.

I took 136 photos @ ISO100, 1/125s exposure. All photos were stacked in Registax. The image was processed in Photoshop to reveal the different compositions of the geological formations on the Moon.

Even at 600mm, the moon didn't take up much of the field of view. I need more focal length!

The attached image is a 600px wide version. For more info and to download a 1024px version, check out:

Thanks for looking.

Magnificent capture Mike. I don't think you need any more, what could you add to that?. I have been trying to get a simple picture of the full moon this month with absolutely no success, and I just want it to look pretty.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments.

Just to clarify - those are the real colours on the moon. I simply boosted the saturation in small increments, layer by layer, to reveal the natural colours of the moon.
