Yesterday we went out to Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. (one of our favorite local tracks) to spend the day with our friends at the drag strip. We are still not able to get our own dragster out there but we hope to soon. Until then I got some shots of some friends and of a wind generator on the way home. I hope you enjoy...
Jerry Noonan burning some rubber getting them slicks nice and sticky: ![]() And at the end of the day Jerry Noonan was the big winner!!! ![]() Jimmy Johnson torquing the front tire and squatting the slicks on a great looking launch, Jimmy was also a big class winner on Sunday! ![]() And last we have some wind power on the way home: ![]() There are a few more cars on my Flickr.

Ok, finally found a moment to sit and go on DPS, only because you now have all the kids, omg I think this is a moment of relaxation....lol.. Love the shots of the cars, you always do such a good job at the track. Your windmill/turbine shot is great, especially from a moving car !! Very nice, well focused shots.
How about some great shots of the kids ? Spoken like a true grandmother.

Michelle, While I don't know alot about drag racing, your photos give a sense of that world. Oddly, I can almost hear the sound of engines when I look at them. As for the windmills. They are surreal, rising out of the desert like that. Nice shots, all.

Great captures of the cars, ther first one in particular showing the smoke coming from the tyres. Sometimes it would be good to put some sound with the photograph. I bet the sound was deafening. Love the turbine picture too, nice perspective and the colour conrast is excellent. Nice work indeed Michelle.
Jake.

I never knew you were into drag racing. Love the sport, but it's been years since I've been to a drag race. I was reading over some of the comments and I have an idea. Kill two birds with one stone. Put the kids in the dragster so mom can get her grandkid picture fix!
