Default "Roll me over . . . "

Here's something I found "in the clover."

This one would fit on your little fingernail:

CloverBug4

Rarely did clover interest me, until I noticed the "dove" or "angel" shapes:

Clover5

Even smaller than the insect above, this spider sits on a "beggars purse" bloom:

LimeSpider

And that bloom shows so much variety, I just keep trying to find them all:

Purse19

Thanks to all who comment on my attempts to find Beauty in the most common things.

Sheriliz, Thanks

It's out there, and with patience it shows itself. Beauty underfoot every day, everywhere. I think we find whatever we look for. Thanks for looking for Beauty.

paulq, Thanks

. . . for even counting! Just for you, then, a second view - 5 and 8 are usually hidden by a front or side view. Spiders seem to give greeneye (#8) instead of redeye, too.

SpidersEight

For an idea of the scale involved here, the abdomen segment of the spider is smaller than one of the eyes shown above - on a 19-inch monitor, anyway.

These are so great!!

I got my new macro lens last week, now with winter and darkness creeping up too soon in the day I only managed to do a fern. I am hopeful though that one day I can also produce some really nice photographs with it. (not that I think I will ever come close to what you do, your photos are always so well captured)

kristen28630, Thanks

There is almost a single moment, when the technical stuff becomes comfortable and second nature, when it does become fun. And that's why I started the whole DPS trip - reading everything (there was a time you could do that, when membership was fewer than a thousand), spending every spare minute trying different settings under different lighting conditions at different angles. Now I can spend more time composing and framing. Fun, yes.

Gaba-gal, Thanks

If only it were harder or more complex - basically I take a walk and find something interesting, get close to it, frame it and snap. I started to say I wish I had a new lens, but realize that I'm really thankful now that I had to start at the most basic level and figure out how to make it all work together. Your new lens will be as good as where you point it, and how well you control the light going through it. You can expect your new lens to produce much better detail - the rest is up to you. Patience will help.

leonaashlee, Thanks

That ends my stay with a smile. Hope your Monday is a hoot.

tingeliM, Thanks

Those are the compound eyes we learned about in Biology, of houseflies and many other insects.

You wear shoes really well, by the way. That's creative work.
