Default My yard wildlife.

Decided to walk around my yard to see if I could score anything of interest. First thing I saw was one of my many yard snakes chilling in the wooded section.

Then I came upon one of the thousands of lizards that are all over the place. I think it was trying to score a mate.

I was hoping to get a shot of the Cardinal, and Blue Jay that hang around a lot, but I did get a shot of the Mocking Bird that drives my wife crazy, and never ceases to amuse me.

Those are some GREAT shots for just going out in the back yard. Can I come up to your place? We've been having too much rain down here lately to get out and get anything except wet.

Wow, these are all excellent captures WooD, your yard is like a nature reserve. I have seen your yard snakes before, If I lived there, I would have to move. My wife hates snakes. You were brave getting that close.

Jake.

Thanks everyone.

Trust me......we've been getting just as much rain as you guys. I'm lucky that my area drains well. I hate having to ride the grass cutting machine when I can instead of when I want. I've mowed it a few times when it looked a mess afterwards. Muddy tire tracks everywhere.

I was shooting a 420mm today. Never got close at all to the snake this time.

My wife will only walk in the grass if I walk ahead of her. She's scared to death of snakes. Wont even look at the pictures I take of them.

Very nicely done. The backyard always seems to have something of interest in it.

Very sharp and clear pics and very nicely composed...not so sure I would want "many" snakes in my yard though my son would be in heaven with reptiles of all sorts
