Default The Bright Lights Of Carro Bridge

Well, I've been in and around here for ages. Mainly been sticking to the General Discussion forum, and only ever posting in the DPS Assignments (missed the last couple --- been a tad busy). But I took this photo the other night, and had to share it! Hope you like!

I recently saw some photos of a local photographer who used a model, swinging nude off one of the light poles on a bridge in Carrington, as the focus. Carrington has a bad name in Newcastle; probably not rightfully so. It's run down, sure. But the people are friendly, and there's definitely not as much crime as people make out. But this bridge is definitely a standout feature of the suburb. So, I thought I'd take a crack at shooting it:

The Bright Lights of Carro

Two images blended together ---
Camera: Canon 450D. Canon 50mm f/1.8 II

Image #1:
Aperture: f/8
Exposure: 10secs
Iso: 100

Image #2:
Aperture: f/16
Exposure: 20secs
Iso: 100

Use of the different aperture/shutter speeds was to get a different effect with the lights of both the light poles and the cars passing. The 20second exposure is the dominant photo in the blend.

This is a nice capture OeterB. Nice sky colour and great bursting light effect. I think you did a great job with this bridge. Nice work.

Jake.

on my opinion, u put on the center the light stall. I would preffer to put it more to left, and make another perspective that running to right. otherwise a very nice capture. good lights
