Default All Roads Lead to Rome

The Italians call it La Citta' Eterna - the Eternal City. It's been said that all roads lead there, and that it wasn't built in a day. Fiddling while it burns is not advised - if guilty of such an act they'll tear down your golden house, drain your artifical lake to build a huge ampitheater, and erase almost any evidence that you existed (way to go Nero!). It's Rome.
My absolute favorite shot from the trip. It's actually two exposures combined. This one will be a poster on my wall shortly.
Colosseum Panorama 3
The Colosseum in B&W - we had a beautiful day when we visited.
Rome Colosseum BW 3
The Pantheon is the oldest best preserved building from ancient Rome.
Rome Pantheon Night
Inside the Pantheon in B&W. You can't see the thousands of people who were inside with us while I was taking this shot.
Rome Pantheon BW
More to come tomorrow.
Thanks for looking.

These are some outstanding pictures. The black and white make them look old. Thanks for sharing

Beautiful shots! Love the first one. You would be well served with putting that one on the wall.

I love the colors in the first one but I like the old world feel in the second shot ~ very nicely done. I can't wait to see more!

So I took this without a tripod - thank goodness for image stabilized lenses. I was right up against a wall leaning as far back as I could. I set the ISO to 400, and I just held really still (exposure was .6 sec). I took a bunch of pictures of the left half, a bunch more of the right half - making sure to overlap. That's really it. More shots gave me more chances that one was sharp. Then I combined the two shots in Photoshop Elements. A tripod and a wider lens would have made this much easier -but I didn't want to lug a tripod with me through Italy and I don't have a wider lens.

Really well done - all 4 of them.

I especially like the one of the Pantheon - a bit of blur, very sharp everywhere else, nice colors, etc.

Thanks for posting.
