Default The Creepy and the Beautiful

The creepy and the beautiful from a recent trip to Amish country in Lancaster County, PA and Longwood Gardens.

The Creepy

Next to the bed and breakfast we stayed in was this weeping beech tree. I didn't really notice the tree until walking up the driveway around 9 PM and I caught this view. Apparently a third of the tree fell some time ago revealing how the branches grow into and then out of the ground. Would have been a cool tree to play in as a child.

This photo was taken in ambient light using just a tripod.

The Beautiful

Both photos were converted to black and white and slightly adjusted in Adobe Lightroom 2.0.

Id be terrified in a big storm..lightning strikes and thunder booming ..that tree looks like it has arms and could walk. Under the blankets Id go...I like the black and white conversion too..both are good shots.

Love the BW shots. From one extreme to other. You nailed these. Beautifully presented.

Well done. That tree reminds me of the Whomping Willow from the Harry Potter books.
