What would a series on Saguaros be without a silhouette and an Arizona sunset? Or moonlight? It seems a good way to bring this series to a close. A few parting thoughts below.
(If you would like a little music to accompany these images, click on this link and then come back to this page while it plays in the background. When you have time, take a look at the video as it features many of the animals you've read about in the Saguaro Saga. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o94EwSY-II&feature=related) The day has sent its fires scattering..... ![]() ...the night has risen from its burning bed. ( lines from poem by Mark Jarman) ![]() Adios ![]() Can I just have one more moondance with you? ![]() All my adult life I have lived in the Sonoran desert. The Saguaro is my familiar, like water to fish, or sky to stars. They're so commonplace I haven't really looked at one in years. It's almost as if I have been driving through this desert with my eyes closed. This spring, the flowers roused me from my slumber, starting with the Palo Verde trees. I became fully, conscious, however, when I started seeing them for you through the lens of my camera. Click! Awake! I've felt a little like a kid picking flowers from the neighbors' yard and bringing them to you, goofy smile and all. The Palo Verde trees set the stage for the blooming of the prickly pear cactus and that led naturally to thinking about the Saguaros that I knew would bloom in May. Seeing them with fresh eyes led to questions and then to facts and then to narrative. All roads, eventually, however, lead to poetry. I end this series with these lines, a snippet of a poem by Gregory Orr, entitled "Let's Remake the World": Let's, As Wordsworth said, remove "The dust of custom" so things Shine again, each object arrayed In its robe of original light. P.S. "It's Only a Photoshop Moon" And stars, too. Don't forget to study. Test on Thursday!

The Arizona tourist board should be knocking on your door Linda, they should be pleading to use your pictures and your text. Your pictures have me wanting to visit your state. The music of the flute and the video that accompanied it make Arizona irresistible. How lucky you are to be surrounded by such beauty and how lucky we are to be able to see it through your eyes with your camera.

What a fitting ending for your series !! You captured the sunsets so well. I haven't seen sunsets with that much color since I was a kid when we lived in Phoenix. Thank You for bringing those memories back and for sharing the shots !!

Lindy, Wow! You've almost got me looking forward to the test with these images...simply stunning! I'm kind of sorry to see the end of your series coming, but there's a lot about the Sonoran desert that I still don't know. And trust me, it's a lot more interesting than the desert I saw in El Paso. Maybe there's something else out there I don't know about that you've been taking for granted. Look for it and show it to me!

There is little I can add to what has already been written. There are no better people to write about the land in which they live and the creation that shares that land, then the people that
love that land. Your love shines through and it infects us all. That is a good thing, that IS what art is all about.

Lindy. Wow, awesome and then the same again. I watched and listened and looked at this magnificent presentation and what an experience it was. You have turned the Saguaro into an elegent lady showing herself to the whole world with so much beauty. The presentation along with the music and video is an award winner in my books. thank you for the experience, it was just beautiful.
Jake.
