A tip to help 'sturdify' a lighter tripod. Have a length of cord with you, then use it to sling a small rock or something under the tripod. The added weight will help hold the tripod down in breezey conditions. Just don't use too big a rock - at best it'll collapse the tripod, at worst, the cord will break and the rock will break your foot

Thanks for the tip. I did just order a Slik Sprint Pro Tripod but will still need some weight I think. I wish I could afford something better but anything has to be better then my 30yr old k-mart special.
