Went to shoot some birds at the local park today

Love the first shot. Really has some character - we have lots of mallard ducks near us at a local duck pond - I think they're great fun to shoot (with a camera of course ). Numbers 3 and 4 - you captured the swan (?) superbly. Great action shots.

hi kirbinster i like #3 looks like it is having a ski.perfect shutter speed might i add, just the right amount of blur on the wing tip but fast enough to keep the rest of the photo sharp. well done.d300s,s rule lol.

Great pictures,mallards are always good "models" and I love watching swans take off and land...such power in those wings!

I could sit for hours watching birds taking off and landing..some times its hard to capture them considering their speed but these shots are great ..i really enjoyed looking at them.

You are right it was not a friendly flight, he was after a few Canadian Geese. These swans attack the geese to keep them away from the babies.

those last two images of the take off are fabulous.....the water is still and the birds on their mark.....good work.....
