What’s Your Preference?

I got my wife up at 3am Saturday morning to leave at 4am and travel an hour to Tuscaloosa, AL for the Sunrise Community Balloon Race. Bless her heart, she's a real trooper to hang with me and my camera craze. I just learned this Saturday that the "hare" balloon takes off first around 6:10am then the hounds follow it or chase it to whatever the destination is. The hare balloon at this race was the Sunrise Balloon.(First picture) The race is a benefit for people with developmental disabilities. It took about 30 to 45 minutes for all 28 balloons to get in the air. Cameras everywhere, from cellphones to the big SLR with 600mm lenses, it was like a camera rally. We stayed in Tuscaloosa and went back for the second race at 5:30pm. I'll share a few here and provide a link for the rest. We had a blast! Most were taken with my new 70-200 f2.8 Nikon, man what nice lens! Some I took with the 18-55 to catch a wider angle. Visit the Sunrise Community at http://www.sunriseballoonrace.org/index.htm

Love the second and fourth, the colors are so bright and crisp.

You have composed these shots with such a keen eye for making them eye popping and visually appealing. They could stand alone as abstract shapes and color. It looks like you had a enjoyable time. Oh...and the narrative is very well done. You took us there. Nicely done!
