Default Interesting details

I find myself often taking pictures of details that catch my fancy, be it combinations of colors or textures or various degrees of neglect and age (not talking about self portraits!). Here are a couple examples of what found in and around Sonora, Ca and today where I spent the day with my wife seeing a play, wandering around, and enjoying friends.

The wall of the restaurant were we ate:

Culture Wars

A door under a stairway in a clothing boutique:

Very Used Door

Thanks for looking!

Isn't it amazing how we look at things that seem so ordinary to some and suddenly see something more. I love the contrast between the brick and the wood in the first shot.

I really like these, particularly the second one of the door. Really good shots

Both very nice! I love the colors in the first one! I love the "distressed" look on the door.

Thanks, everyone. Like many of you said, photography really helps us look at things in different ways then we ever did before. Sometimes it's like I've just opened my eyes for the first time!
