Default After a storm the monsters wake.

We have had severe weather recently and I went out during a break to see what was moving around. If you like this type of shot, all of these look much better at a larger size.

This guy is always available, if you can sneak up on him.

Iguana Hole

Next up, Mister Sneaky, he really thought he was hidden.

Peeping

Oh a squirrel wannabe, he would hide behind the tree limb. This little tree had six of these guys in it, didn't see any others until I moved and they started jumping into the water.

Green Iguana

Last but not least I present Grandpa.

Iguana

Those are really cool images Fred. I love the detail. It seems like they were very cooperative for you. Way to go buddy.

Nice captures. We have multitudes of lizards around here, but no cool Iguanas.

When my son was younger we had one as a pet, but it wasn't too friendly. All it wanted to do was hang out in our house plants till it got hungry.

Thank you sir, wet ground makes a good day to stalk. I have been around a lot of animals in the wild and these things are as wary as any thing that walks the woods.

Thanks, I don't think these guys could handle the weather there.

LOL, prehistoric is what they seem like, the older they are the more they appear to be prehistoric.

We have lots of lizards here too, and not really supposed to have the iguanas. I understand it all started when people turned loose their unwanted iguana pets. Now the island has an established breeding population, setting them free is and was then illegal but it doesn't seem to matter.

Thanks, I just wish I would have spotted all his buddies before they jumped away.

Thanks Hayward, it seems like Paradise when I call home (VA) and it's below zero and we are in the 80s. I never really photographed birds or reptiles in the past, but always into nature. Mainly the mammals and wild turkey. There are no mammals here, well a few monkeys and mongoose but nothing else. Monkeys are escapees that the gov't is trying to eliminate and the mongoose were introduced. I just like to get out to eliminate the stress from the job so now I photograph what I can.
