Default Memorial Day 2009 Air Show

Blue Angels

We attended an Air Show during the Memorial Day weekend that featured the Blue Angels. I took this picture using my Nikon D40x SLR with the AF-S Nikkor 18-55 lens on the 55 setting.

Thanks for looking and for any and all comments.

Nice shot Susan. The blue border really draws out the blue skies and contrasting clouds. Air shows are great fun, aren't they? We always try to attend the one in Wilmington, NC or Lumberton, NC. THANKS for sharing!

Yes, they are quite interesting - the pilots all make it look so easy, but living in this area, I know that is in looks only. This is only the second show I have attended since moving to the area - weather has not always cooperated. But this year's show was quite enjoyable.
Thanks again.

I love the shot, if you don't mind a small critique, I think it might have been just a little better with the Jets on the left side of the shot, this would have given them "room to fly" into.

Blue Angels

I do appreciate your critique and do agree with you; however, the photo was taken in a series of continuous shots and the original one I posted was the best in the series for details. I am including the one from the series that was from the left. As you can see, the details on the underside of the jets is no where near as clear as in the other shot. I believe I was shooting more into the sun in this shot.
