Default Nature's fury, redux.

My final submission for my photography semester has been handed in! Phew! It was a great time all in all, taking the shots and then having to (only) choose 16 of them.

The entire folio is here at my flickr.

You might remember one or two I've submitted here before, but they all fell within the guidelines of the course.

I will probably skip the beach for a day or two now, simply because it's getting just a touch colder. But after all the rain, gale force winds and king tides this past week, they have left their mark on our beaches. I couldn't get down to the massive 'cliff' that was once Palm Beach, but I did get to Currumbin rocks. Just two weeks ago, these were perfectly smooth and clear sands (as seen here).

It's going to take ages for the dunes to recover, with so many trees and roots now exposed. I guess that is just the simple fact of life along our ever changing foreshore.

Enjoy.
Cheers
Jane

awesome images if you have here .. I click on the link to the before and after .. sudden changes indeed .. that is very troublesome to see the slow destruction to your beautiful beaches and shoreline .. is it the just because you had more severe weather this year?? ..and on the good note .. you can relax now .. when will you find out the results

Hi Hayward,
Oh we had some absolutely insane weather - galeforce winds, and king tides. We had 1/3 of our annual rainfall last Wednesday and lots of flooding. I haven't seen the beaches this bad since 1974, but I guess they will recover. They always do. And thanks, yes, I can relax. One exam next week and then on to the next semester!
cheers
