Default The Spillway

Looking for a good name for this picture.

This was taken inbetween the I-10 bridges outside New Orleans headed to Baton Rouge close to sunset. They call it the spillway because this is where they drain the Mississippi river (into Lake Pontchartrain) if the river gets too high. Yesterday was my first trip there in almost 15 years. I got other pictures, but haven't been able to go through them yet.

This was my second attempt at an HDR image after the tremendous failure of the first attempt.

I don't have a good name for you, but I have some praise. Great photo! The HDR processing brings out the features without making the photo look too cooked. The very even exposure levels across each element gives them equal weight. The composition is fantastic and brings out a feeling of endlessness in the water, the sky, and the bridges. Great shot. Me likey.

Thanks. Althought it wasn't the sunset I was looking for, I keep staring down the bridges wondering whats down there.

I didn't actually notice this until you said it. I was stuck on the bridges.

This is a stunning photograph! It's showing what you can do with HDR without going overboard. And yes, I just noticed the face in the clouds. It looks eerie.

Brilliant work, thanks for sharing.

Cheers
