Default Heritage building Camden NSW

went out to practice some night shots. Found this lovely old house just off the main street.
It is very typical of the old houses around this area.

That's a great old building. Any idea how old it is? I love the brickwork...

This is a private residence. Yes that is an old wagon left to rot away at the side of the house. Shame really. Not sure how old but all your questions have raised my interest. I will try and find out.

Great looking house and you've captured a lot of detail. Very well done!

Put it into JASC Paint sop pro and added a vintage effect. Not really knowing how to use it though. Really just learning.

Hi Fred, well after a couple of questions asked about this house my curiousity got the better of me and I also had to know So here it all is.
The House is called "Macaria" it was built in 1859 by Henry Thompson as a school for William Gordon. The school however never eventuated.
The next owners were the Milford family. Father then Daughter owned it.
It later became a grammer school and then the Home of Dr F W West and then other medical doctors.
It was eventually purchased by Camden Council and is now used as offices for the Mayor and town clerk.
Macaria has had a sad history with previous owners dying in tragic cicumstances and is reputedly haunted.
I'm glad you guys asked because I now know a little more of my home towns history.
