Default Awesome shot

Fred - awesome shot! The detail is fabulous. I probably should have looked at the Exif data before asking this question, but what kind of lens did you use on this shot? I ask because I also use a Pentax K100D. I would love to be able to capture this kind of detail in my shots.

Hi ejones, I love my K100D... I'm really glad you liked the picture. I used a Tamron AF 70-300 F4-5.6 LD MACRO at 200MM no flash, manually exposed, manual focus. And most important, on a tripod. Hope this gives an idea.

I really like your color balance. Are you using auto for white balance or a custome setting?

beautiful color and beautiful shot......hate to ask it here but the answer really doesn't matter as it doesn't affect the end product. But was this sprayed with a water bottle? Only reason I ask is that the green foliage to the right appears to be completely dry. I know alot of pros do just that...carry a water bottle mixed with glycerin to help prevent evaporation and spray down plants on a sunlit day to catch the sparkle that the droplets have to offer. It is a great set of shots either way!
