Default My 1000th post....enjoying the ride with you

I did not have to save any special images for this post. I still remain true to form....shooting outside in nature taking what it will give me. All of these shots are straight out of the camera and were taken yesterday or today. The catch is that a friend from work let me borrow his Nikkor 105mm macro lens. It is the older variety with the aperture ring that must be locked at f32 to work on my camera. Nevertheless, I had a ball learning how to shoot with it and discovering that annoying super thin depth of field. Here then is some of results of that lens.....before I have to give it back.....already weeping at the thought. I have certainly seen a great deal of fabulous photos over the last few months and I feel that my own photography has found its own kind of niche for now. Most of you who have been following along my photographic journey probably have a pretty good feel as to what I tend to shoot......living things...flowers, trees, horses, etc....whatever is out there on the landscape. And you know that the vast majority of my shots are shot at lunchtime on my work days....very little photography is done on my off days due to being with my wife and kids who don't see me enough as it is. In any case, it has been a pleasure photographing with all of you and I look forward to the next thousand! Patrick

Michelle, yes you who has been seeing spots, I am now seeing spots too!

I started with one drop, now I am doing five with my house in reflection! Depth of field can be very tricky here.....it is that thin!

Half blown dandelion.....its work is almost done for the season

Congratulations, Patrick. You have added so much to this forum. Lovely photos, certainly. But you eptomize "Southern Hospitality". You welcome people, you leave encouraging feedback and you have have a great sense of humor. And you are kind. I've very much enjoyed sharing your communing with nature. Your joy in Mother Earth spills over into your photos. Thank you, too, that a few of your 1000 posts came my direction. Final thought. Go get a macro lens. Clearly you have the gift!

Need some money honey! and the wife isn't giving it to me! At least I know what the lens will do and I can save for it. I love that type of photography. I am glad to have looked at your photography and I am glad that you have enjoyed mine......Maybe there's a lens with my name on it glued onto that psychedelic lion car somewhere!
