When I saw this old cement statue in such a state of deterioration it made me think of the fragility of life, and everything in the world that surrounds us. The ravages of time changes everything...to me, it underscores the importance of your photos. Capture today for the memories you will cherish tomorrow.
![]() Maybe this is the reason I love looking at old photos so much...not only my old family photos, but any old photos. How about you...do you enjoy looking at old photos?

Thank you Fred. I don't know, I just seem to get drawn into old photos. I look at the people, wonder what their life was like, or if they're even still alive. Old street scenes, maybe of your own town, old cars, or even horse and buggies...store names on signs, maybe some still in existence, or maybe not. Recently, I was at a diner and they had some of their old town photos on the wall, and I saw a sign for Woolworth's 5 & 10, now a store long gone. I'm not sure if they were a local chain or a national, but seeing it was a trip down memory lane. Yeah, old photos are great.

That's creepy and awesome at the same time! I love old photos! I love all old things...the worse shape, the better. Houses, barns, tombstones, etc.

Although mainly a department store, what I remember most about Woolworth's was that it had a long lunch counter not unlike some of the old drug stores. ...always fun to stop by for an ice cream soda

LOL. At any rate I often wonder what peoples' lives were like, the historical context of the picture etc... I love seeing the then vs. now comparisons. They're very fascinating to me in a way like old video historical events. You're right, old photos are great.
