Default Black Crowned Night Heron an Friends

I went out after work tonight and walked along the canal. The Night Heron was hard to spot; but I didn't seem to bother him. The Egrets were working the paddy fields on the other side. Using my Canon 70-200mm with a 1.4 extender II
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did taking them.
Chewys Dad.

Thanks for sharing these. I have never seen either of these birds in real life and you have taken me there. I think my shoes are even a little wet.

These are lovely shots, I particularly like no 1. I also like the way you've included the surroundings so we can see the habitat. Really nice

The colors of the Heron are quite different thenthe ones I see here in New York .. very colorful and he's quite small and compact.. no doubt an expert at catching fish though ,, very nice photos of him !

I also like your Egret, we have Snowy Egrets and Great Egrets ( which are Huge ) but look very similar, quite striking feather frills and crown, you did well shooting such a stark white object in the sun , maintaning some feather detail and contrast.

The flowers in the 4th were a nice bonus background

I also shoot with a Canon 70-200m and a Converter, you did quite well with your set-up, I know it's not so easy to frame and focus and you got some nice shots of cool birds, thanks for showing them,

Vin

Very good results, I can't decide which I like best, but leaning to the first one. Yea, I'm into this birding thing right now, my wife hopes it will pass soon.

Thanks Vin and FDCPR; for the comments; We have so many Blue Herons and Great Egrets, Cattle Egrets and others here. They've become my favorites for now.

I just ordered a Canon 500mm f4..0 L IS USM, so I can reach out and touch grab them as they are kind of skittish. Big investment for an amature like me, but you only go around once.
Thanks Again
Chewys Dad.

Sorry buddy must have missed this one due to my working. You did have fun with these lovely birds. I think you did a great job too especially with the last one with all the colour behind the egret. Great work mate. Very pleasing to view.

Jake.
