Thanks! I was shooting through a fence, and since I was using my 50 f/1.8, I had no zoom ability, but the clarity is worth it!

On the third shot I have an important question... Was the runner safe???
Great action shots. If you open your aperture a smidgen more, you will focus more on the players in the fore ground and less further out. (Your DOF will look more like that of the fourth shot.) I find that a tad more appealing, but that's just me. Keep up the good work!

I was really lucky to get that shot! The thing about sports photography is there isn't much chance for composition, but you have to be ready when the great shots present themselves. I got lucky this time and snapped that shot of the great slide home! He was safe, by the way.

You need to move around instead of shooting from behind home plate area and use your other lenses the 70-300 or 55-200, those two will allow you to crop in for better isolated shots, such as pitcher pitching. He kind of gets lost in the wide open spaces, and you won't be getting the back of catchers head in pictures.
Also shooting with a 50mm gives you too much depth of field. Since you didn't post any information I haven't a clue what your fstop or shutter speed was. In the first picture your eye should go to the action, not wander off to the people sitting on the bleachers in the background. Here's a thread to read. how to shoot baseball pt1 Have fun

Very awesome! I didn't know the 50mm f1.8 could perform that well with action shots. That's pretty nice!
