Red face Sexy Makita

Sexy Makita
Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 214 mm
Exposure: 0.00
ISO Speed: 400

Here is an image I took of my Dog yesterday. There is a dog park at my apartment complex where I take her sometimes. Yesterday I sat down on the metal bench and let her off her leash. She walked around for awhile sniffing the ground and walking in this muddy marsh. Makita then started to head over toward the pond that is filled with gross algae. She managed to find a frog and chased it around until it jumped in the water. Makita ate some of the algae on the ponds surface which I thought was gross. I told her to stop and she came over to the bench. The sun was low on the horizon so the shadow cast from the bench was long she took a seat behind the bench and I noticed the shadow from the bench on her face. The shadow looked like a chain fenced so I stood up with my 70-300 and waited patiently until she turned her head just right so I could get the image I wanted.

This is a "sexy" shot, if there's such a thing, of Makita!

what a gorgeous dog!! What breed is Makita? At first glance I thought it was a wolf.
The chain link style shadowing looks great, I love how it gradually moves from a solid shadow into an actual pattern across the picture!

She is a Husky/Collie mix the lighting in this image makes me really want to experiment using a snoot and or grid over my flash.

I like the pattern of the bench on Makita's face and her eyes are looking straight up at the camera! Great capture!

Yep the shadow was cast from the bench. I'll try and remember to post the color version today when I get home. Since her face is mostly white there isn't a whole lot of color in the image; which is why I did a black and white conversion.
