Default Green Eyed Flies and Other Macros

This first two shots are of fly that was munching on the bugs smashed on my rearview mirror. The next two were taken with my 100-400 lens while I was out taking bird shots.

What lens did you use? I didn't see it in the flickr data...

Great shots, wonderful details!

Zomie,
The first two were with a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens with a 3+ closeup. The last two were with a EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM at 400 mm. I hope to get a real macro lens some day. Thanks for viewing and for your comments.

Very good details and sharpness. I like the DOF of the first one. Is that a dead mini insect on the right side of the fly on the 2nd image? Cool images wildjob!

Thanks Paulq, yes this fly was feeding on the insects which had died on the backside of the mirror. The insect is probably a midge.

What cool looking eyes on the first two. Good focus and saturation. The last one remonds me of "It's a Bug's Life" for some reason. Nice job.
