Default Most expensive nest

last few days I've had no time to shoot, family, work, friends and rain , so I went to the files and came up with something to contribute..

One of my new favorite places, some of you have seen it before " The Bayard Cutting Arboritum " .. was a mansion, now owned by the state and is a park.. The mansion has Park offices and a Resturant ( food smells good ! ) .. and they have a special family staying upstairs ..an Osprey nest on one of the really tall chimneys .. I did some labeling ( not very good at it, to explain what the heck I am talking about .. take a look at the large size on flickr to get a real good look !

Mansion Nest
quite the house !! ... like I said, I've shown it before .. but now see why I have such interest in a really nice building ! ... it's all about the birds !!

IMG_3101
not one of my better shots, but I got the chimney in there so you can see and get an idea of how cool it is that they built a nest there ! and I am certain they no longer use the fireplace lol !
I haven't seen any little chicks poking thier heads out yet.. but I can hear them crying for food and I am determined to get some good shots of one of the parents bringing back a fish.

and incase your wondering, I move much closer to shoot the nest and the birds.. I do not own the 1500mm $55,000.00 canon lense ! ROFL !

I'm going to have to let this Osprey phase run it's course, hopefully I'm not boring ya'll to death with my newest obsession !

thanks for taking a look

Vin

that is a good size nest .. it looks like they took over the chimney .. can't hardly wait to see the young 'uns .. I am sure you'll be there with the camera to record the first attempted flight .. very nice, Vin

Great job showing the nest location, it is very surprising where these guys will decide to make their home. I agree with you, this has to be the most expensive location I've seen. Living in luxury!

Great shots. Those are very "high end" birds!

Nice shots Vin. I was in you neck of the woods this weekend for my sons wedding. It was at the Westbury Manor. I went for a ride Sunday morning but it started to rain and could not find anything to shoot. I should have gotten so info from you before I went down there.

With that nest they get some natural convection heat.....pretty smart for a bird. I hope the occupants don't try to remove the nest. Would there be any law against doing so?

You're not borring me at all. I really like your pic of the mansion. I think it would look even better with the geese cropped out and the chairs cloned out(they draw some attention away from the building). Excellent shot and great framing. I hope you get your shot of the osprey with a fish. That would be very cool. I would love to have some osprey's around here. Great shooting vin.
