Default Horses again, they eat, pee and sleep too

foal nursing at lunch time

DSC_4612

"Oh god, that feels so good!" Never seen a horse show any expression while taking care of business....quickly snapped the moment

foal peeing

Alert but at repose

DSC_4727

Naptime, soon many will join in to soak up the heat of the sun.

mare and foal at rest

Oh, Patrick, that foal's face is priceless! Too funny. I love the shot of him nursing, too, and laying in the grass with Mama nearby.

I'm just glad you didn't have any shots of him pooping.

No, I don't....I wasn't even looking for the peeing shot. I was scanning about the field and saw this foal just stretching his neck to the sky and thought....interesting and different. It was really in the snap that I saw his hind legs pushed back and locked up and I realized that he was doing his thing.....but the expression was universal, I had seen it before, but not in the animal kingdom. I have seen many a man pull off this expression after waiting in line for a while for a urinal at a ball game or something.

Great shots, Pat. Adorable little colt.
My gelding actually moans each time he pees. Sometimes, it is very embarassing.

Those are so sweet. His expression is just too funny on that second photograph. I absolutely love the third one.

Now that's hilarious!!!!

When we were vacationing in Amish country in PA a few years ago, we went on buggy ride tour. My son was 6 at the time, and got to sit right up front with the tour guide/driver. Poor kid...the horse that was right in front of him farted through the whole tour.

Lovely shots and great colour..I took some yesterday of a foal sleeping in the field..its nice to appreciate nature and the beauty of it..In our hectic world we sometimes get too caught up to see these things.

Good thing your son wasn't holding a candle! It would be the budweiser super bowl commercial all over again...if you haven't seen it...you absolutely must.....google "horse farting" "Budweiser" "super bowl" to view the commercial.
