Default Bass Fishing Tournament

My friend John asked me to fish as his partner in a Bass Fishing Tournament at Clear Lake in Northern California. This was a team [two anglers combining to weigh in 5 black bass) tournament format, and the end result for us was 26th place (18.15 lbs. for 5 fish) out of 160 boats. Not to bad for a first timer (me!). Anyway, here are some pics from the event.

Boats are sent out pre-dawn one at a time (thru a drawing) so there is a big huddle at the 'blast off' point.

Fish must be kept alive and all fish are returned alive to the lake via a big pontoon boat that's been rerigged with huge aerated tanks.

This was the largest fish weighed in the tournament and netted this lucky angler several hundred dollars.

Boats at the end of the line for the weigh-in...

Hope you enjoy..

Cool, the first one reminds of opening day on Crowley Lake. Looks like you could walk across the water on the boats and stay completely dry. Looks like you had fun.

Thanks for the kind words Fred. I've done the Crowley Lake opening day event before. This was very similar, long day, longer lines...
