Bisbee, Arizona is a fascinating blend of the Victorian era, the "old west" and the 60's. A walk down Tombstone Canyon leaves you feelings as though you have stepped back in time. Mid-western looking wooden houses, mostly the former homes of miners who worked the Lavender Pit Open Copper mine, are perched precariously on the sides of the canyon with narrow steps--lots of steps--leading up the hills. These photos are some of the art cars that add an element from the 60's. They advertise that Bisbee is an artist friendly community. Here are three samples of "moving art" from Bisbee. (Forgive the quality. They are all 127 mm film from the mid-90's)
I call this one Toy Story Car. The reason is evident. ![]() Here's another view of The Great Fortune Telling Lion car and another called Hula Girl (seen on the bumper). ![]() No surprise here. This is my favorite.

what a delight to see all these different images of fun cars ... their owners must have spend a lot of hours decorating these machines .. and you - my friend - has done a magnificent job in researching their background .. brilliantly presented and I enjoy them tremendously .. thank you

Since I recently took the GFT Lion surfing, it gave me the idea to find these photos and post them while the silly mood was intact. It was so weird to look through photo boxes of prints. I certainly had no idea what I was doing when I took them. My carmera was a $30 point and shoot. It wasn't much but it was the beginning of discovering photography. Thanks, David. I appreciate your comments.
