Default Florence Italy

Here are some more pictures from my recent trip to Italy. After Venice we went to Florence.

This is the duomo at night. No tripod again so I had to bump the ISO up. A little noisy, but not bad I think.
Florence Duomo Night

This shot was from Piazza Michelangelo - a great view of Florence from up there. I did use a small tripod for this one. This is one of my favorite shots I took during the trip. It's much better big

When you climb to the top of the dome, this is the view you are rewarded with

Saw this bike next to a wall in the historic center of Florence.

Thanks for looking.

Love the perspective of all thes captures tjp. I can understand why the second one is your favourite. I checked out the large size and, yes, it is awesoeme. Love the last one, so simple and the textures are excellent. Very nice work my friend.

Jake.

really beautiful. I love how contra the subject is to the back ground but yet compelling. The color is magnificent. GREAT SHOT!

Thanks Jake. For the last one, my wife and I were sitting on that corner eating a sandwich and I looked behind me and saw the bike leaning against the wall there (it was a bank). I thought hmm...good opportunity.

Thanks Hayward. The duomo of Florence is a neat subject. As I'm sure you remember, it's crammed in there pretty tight against all the other buildings.

Thank you! You can see the red brick dome from just about any street when you're walking around Florence. It was the largest dome in the world until modern sports stadiums.

Thanks Hulk. The third shot requires a climb up 480 steep stairs through some claustrophobic hallways. Worth the exercise though as you can see.

Wonderful shots, I studied there for a summer before I got into photography. I just wish I had been able to capture some of the city. You pictures are great; they make me feel the beauty and history of the place that I remember. Great job creating emotional impact. I don't think there is too much noise in the first one, and it is my favorite because the sky is such a great color to contrast with the lightness of the building.
