Default On the Way Home

It's been raining a good bit here, so I haven't taken any pictures in three days! Today started out gloomy, but it cleared up and was beautiful this afternoon. On the way home Nikki Sue Nikon saw a place and begged me to stop, so I did and here's the result:

Ahhhhh! Nikki Sue and I feel so much better now!

I bet! I like this type of photography as well. There is just so much detail to capture that the eye just doesn't take in very well. I love that juxtaposition of that dying colorless flower right next to the two healthy ones. Both beautiful and thought provoking.....Why wouldn't the 3rd flower be in just as good of condition as the other two being right next to them?? Great shots Mike

Outstanding work Mike. They are all really good. The purple one against the pink background is amazing. Great work.

Your DoF in all of these is spot on Mike. You have captured some great detail. The third one is my favourite. The bokeh colour is so lovely. Nice work my friend.

Jake.

Aside from the rose, they are simple wild flowers growing on the side of the road, so I'm sure you could have all you want!

Patrick, I saw your post just the other day where you went out on your lunch hour and that was my inspiration. I liked the idea of including the spent bloom as well. It's a contrast in textures and passing to the next stage. thanks for looking!

I had ample opportunity to photograph the purple all by itself, but I'm learning that by adding another color I can really add a lot of interest. Thanks for the comments!

Jake, thanks for looking! I really liked putting the lavender in front of the red. I think it really makes it stand out.

Thanks so much! I'm glad I stopped, too. We all should stop and smell the flowers more often.

I think the 4th one is my favorite. I love the detail of the thorns. Great work.
