Default Reflections Up

While wandering downtown, I stopped looking up and started looking down.

These images were all captured at the Garvey Center in Wichita. These buildings were all
built in the late sixties. There are two "towers" East and West and a high rise hotel in the center and set back. Between the two towers is a sunken plaza with an Indian statue
over a pond. this area is called the Kiva. Running through this complex is a man made
stream. The bottom of which was painted black a year or so back. That's why I was able to
captuer the images below. And Now without further ado, Reflections Up:

The Kiva

The East Garvey Building and the Old Hoilday Inn

The East Garvey Building

I'm not sure what is happening with this image, but for some reason, there is a repeat in the corner of the image.
Maybe that will make the image twice as good.

Amazing captures wildcat. they almost look like they have been painted. Great idea to just use the reflections and they look really good with the subtle movement of the water. This is excellent work my friend.

Jake.

Thanks, I have used this method a couple of times. I wonder if the impression masters
spent time gazing in the water, before putting brush to canvas.

Thanks Jake. The bottom of this stream used to be light blue. I don't think the effect would have been nearly as dramatic as with the black bottom. I asked someone why the bottom had been painted black. Their guess was that the light blue was too hard to keep clean. I think it was because they are photographers.

Thanks Patrick, they have been fun to capture and work with in post. except for a clone stamp here or there to remove a stray leaf and a little cropping. The images are pretty much as they were captured. No liquify or anything fancy in photo shop. I have found that just a
small amount of water movement, gives the image a whole different feel. The water does move, so that was natural too. You should give it a try.

Thanks again,
