Default First night shots

These are my first attempts at shooting something at night other than the moon. Hope you like them. The city is Ventura, CA and the fog was rolling in. I was on my hands and knees on the 9th story balcony with my mini tripod.

The moon was blown out, PP'd one with some features into this one.

I'm not sure if I like this one.

What do you think? As always, I like any comments you may have. Thanks for looking!

Fred, I think I like the third one the best. I kinda like the effect of the fog rolling in. Good job! keep it up

I like the first and the third. The moon reflection off the ocean is great on the third capture. I grew up in Ventura and spent many good times surfing at the point just north of the pier.

Cool, thanks much for the input. I'll have to be sure to be mindful of the exposure. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Mike, I'm glad you liked them. There were quite a few surfers there the afternoon we checked in. Thanks again for looking.

I like the second one. You should try to crop out the moon and make a pano type shot. I also needs to be leveled.

Hey fred nice work I like the 3rd shot almost like you were able to capture muted pastels at night .
did you consider cropping out thelower building just where the bridge lights reflections end. thanks for sharing

Glad you like tht one. I'll have to try the pano crop. The horizon was hidden so I was unsure of where it was... LOL. I appreciate the input.

Thanks Tycooder, I hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the comments, appreciate it.

Hey Fred...I can't complain as I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to these types of shots.....yet. Look slike a good start.....certainly the fog doesn't help when it comes to clarity and sharp focus but it is fog that you are taking and I think the third has an interesting soft effect which works. Where did your daughter graduate from?
