Default Tee Ball

I just bought a brand new camera (D90) and headed out to a Tee Ball game that my brother was coaching. Took a TON of pictures. It was late afternoon (6:45 CST), so the lighting was JUST starting to die out, which is why these picture look a little on the "cool / blue" side. I think it worked out well though for my first time going out and snapping off a bunch of pictures.

Anyway, here are a few pictures that I liked from the whole shoot. Action shots aren't so much "action" during a 3 year old kids Tee Ball game, but they work. I am mostly looking to find out if the lighting is good and if not, what can I do about making them look better post processing wise. I really felt like the light was perfect, but after looking at them for the past few days, I begin to wonder if it was just a LITTLE too dark.

Please criticize, I want to get better.

I think these are all great shots! The lighting seems perfect to me. They are very crisp and clear. Good job. I esp. love the first one.

Excellent shots. The expressions are what really make T-Ball special. I think the light works well here had it been 30 minutes later you might have had to bump up the ISO even more.

Thanks for the compliments.

I agree about the expressions and tee ball. I had so much fun shooting this game because it had such a "wacky" feeling. Tiny kids running around and only half knowing whats going on, etc.

Here are a few more pictures that I think help push the "expression" theme you were talking about:

This kid cried whenever the ball came within 15 feet of him and he wasn't able to get it (or somebody else got it before him). The adults and his teammates had to calm him down after every play. It was great because even kids from the opposite team were encouraging him.

I'm posting this one simply because it is one of my favorites. Not sure why.

You can see the rest of the set here if anyone is interested:

I love the pics. I have a D90 and one of my favorite things to photograph is sports/kids.

Having two kids in little league, makes these pictures even funnier to look at! These are great pics. The expressions truly expresses a t-ball game. Keep up the good work!

As for the lighting, I think that they look fine!

Also, make sure you keep these pictures for the years ahead when the kids move up to the older leagues.

I just left my daughter's t-ball game.. These pictures make me laugh.. I hate the field we play on though, unless you are coaching you aren't allowed on the field.. and the fence is terrible so you can't hardly catch a picture.. Excellent shots though!! Little kids are awesome!
