Default Luna noctum

I stayed up to watch the last of the storm clouds roll past ( least for a day or two ) .. and took a few shots of the moon ..

Mooned

here's a little closer

Lightside of the Moon

had some nice cloud patterns, that at first where in my way ... then became part of the show
Moonclouds
think this is the one I left sooc .. sky had a little color which I never used to really notice

the moon can be really bright.. these clouds didn't darken it too much .. I like the comp on this one .. moon's half blown out, but I like it anyway.

Luna Light

thanks for taking a look... free show every month weather permitting !

Vin

My fave is the 3rd shot. The clouds give the shot this sense of darkness and foreboding.

Great shots Vinam, I have tried and tried to take shots of the moon and had no luck I keep getting like a lens flare effect in my shots. But mate you have really nailed it with these. The one with the rolling clouds is just fantastic.

Vin these are fabulous. I tried my hand at this tonight and it is much harder then one might think. You nailed them of course. I need a better lens to be as effective as I would like to be. I may rent one next month if our local camera center does that kind of thing. Really wonderful work here!

I think you're on a roll.
Is this another subject that could could be ticked off the list, not that I'm saying it's perfect. The US flag is a little out of focus, and I think you could have waited for a further 3.5 degree rotation on the polar axis

They are excellent buddy, I can't pick a favourite and I've been looking at them for some time, although I suspect not at much as you invested in these wonderful examples.
I think I like the first one best

cheers, beachcomber

Vin these are great ! I should be getting a 300mm lens this coming week and can't wait to try taking moon shots. I know who I will be asking for help.

I really like the one with the clouds, it adds mystique to it !

This is just beautiful work Vin. You have some great detail. I just love the third one. It almost looks like the reflection of the moon in the sea, in my opinion anyway. You are certainly having a great time with that camera at the moment Bro. Super work.

Vin, the first two are spectacular in their own right. Clear and detailed but, I really like the last 2. The third one showing behind the clouds.... Love it. Thanks
