Default before the fire storm

DSC_0070
This scene no longer exists.
Its the oval at Marysville in Victoria before the fires.
It will be a long time before we see this again.
I have the photo on my wall above the computer to remind me of the importance of photography in recording instances of time that can never be repeated.
It may not be a great photo, technically but for me it holds some very special memeories of a beautiful place that will be rebuilt by some very special people.

Yes, I am sure...It is sad that this is no longer there but you are absolutely right in that we are indeed capturing a single moment that is not to be repeated. It is one of the beauties of photography. Thanks for sharing

Even is it were technically incorrect, it's creatively perfect. The capture will always evoke emotions that are meaningful to the beholder. Great job in capturing a memory that will last.

Hi Tom,
I have just returned from visiting my son and his family in Albury NSW, but they actually live in Wodanga. We arrived just as the fires were ending, but some were still going on. Thankfully my son and his family didn't have to move, but he told me that they kept the car packed just in case.
Good luck for the future.
mike.
P.S.We are comming back next year.
