Default Revisiting Some Old Friends

I took these shots a couple of years ago with my Knoica Minolta A2, which I still have. It did a good job and served me well but I love my Canon 40D. Still, I managed to get some pretty good shots with the A2.

The boats shot I was never really happy with because of the DOF. So I made it black & white and then erased over the boats to bring out the color. I'm much happier with it like this.

The Raindrops on Rose Leaves was a surprise when I first shot it. I didn't know what I had captured until I was starting my post processing. It's one of my favorite shots.

I never really did do anything with the Lifevests and loved playing with it today. The rose was also an old shot I hadn't really paid much attention to.

It's cool to revisit old shots. You never know what surprises are in store for you.

I agree but it was you that made the pretty good shots with the help of the A2. I also still use my P&S for macro and landscape shots.

I like the framing on the life vests, it would be a much different image without the poles framing the shot.

Rich: Thanks for the kind comments. I used the A2 to get back into shooting. It has it's limitations but did a nice job. One thing I like about it is that is has macro modes at both the 55mm and 200mm settings. But it also gave me a lot of manual options, which helped me relearn how to use a camera.

kstraw2: I agree. When I saw this setup originally I saw the possibilities. But I just never did anything with it. Without the sail poles it just looks out of context.

After working on these photos I pulled out the old A2. It really is a nice camera. I'll post some newer pics later.
